Cellular senescence is induced by many stresses including telomere shortening, DNA damage, oxidative, or metabolic stresses. Senescent cells are stably cell cycle arrested and they secrete many factors including cytokines and chemokines. Accumulation of senescent cells promotes many age-related alterations and diseases.

Introduction: NHS Blood and Transplant Tissue and Eye Services (TES) retrieve eyes for corneal and scleral transplant purposes from hospitals, hospices, and funeral homes throughout the UK. The eyes are sent to TES eye banks either in Liverpool or Bristol. A major objective of TES is to ensure that the eyes arrive at their destinations in good condition and remain fit for purpose.

Globally, 296 million people are infected with hepatitis B virus (HBV), and approximately one million people die annually from HBV-related causes, including liver cancer. Although there is a preventative vaccine and antiviral therapies suppressing HBV replication, there is no cure. Intensive efforts are under way to develop curative HBV therapies.

We report a case of myasthenia gravis, myocarditis, and myositis following the treatment of melanoma with nivolumab. The patient was a 68-year-old Caucasian male with stage 3 melanoma status after two doses of nivolumab with shortness of breath, intermittent palpitations, dizziness, and nausea. During his initial evaluation, he was found to have atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response along with new-onset proximal muscle weakness, double vision, dysphagia, and ptosis of the right eye.
