Pathogenic intracellular bacteria pose a significant threat to global public health due to the barriers presented by host cells hindering the timely detection of hidden bacteria and the effective delivery of therapeutic agents. To address these challenges, we propose a tandem diagnosis-guided treatment paradigm. A supramolecular sensor array is developed for simple, rapid, accurate, and high-throughput identification of intracellular bacteria.

: Chronic wounds, including hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and venous ulcers (VU), are commonly associated with complex microbial communities that may influence wound healing and treatment outcomes. Understanding microbial diversity and antibiotic resistance patterns is essential in order to optimize therapeutic strategies. This study aimed to investigate the microbial populations and antibiotic resistance profiles in HS and VU patients, comparing the prevalence of common pathogens and their antimicrobial resistance profiles.

In the present study, we used phenotypic and molecular methods to determine susceptibility to oxacillin in coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) and estimate the prevalence of strains with low-level resistance to oxacillin, A-positive oxacillin-susceptible methicillin-resistant (OS-MRCoNS), and borderline oxacillin-resistant (BORCoNS). One hundred one CoNS strains were screened for oxacillin and cefoxitin susceptibility using phenotypic (disk diffusion, agar dilution, latex agglutination, and chromagar) and molecular (detection of A, B, and C) methods. Staphylococcal cassette chromosome (SCC) typing was performed.

: The rapid evolution of bacterial resistance and the high cost of drug development have attributed greatly to the dearth in drug design. Computational approaches and natural product exploitation offer potential solutions to accelerate drug discovery. : In this research article, we aimed to identify novel antibacterial hits.

Background: Testing for (SA) colonization in emergency department (ED) patients may guide prevention strategies against hospital acquired infections (HAI). This study determined the prevalence of SA carriers in a general ED population, characterized the population, and identified predictors for SA colonization.
Methods: A prospective monocentric observational cohort study in a tertiary care hospital collected nasopharyngeal swabs in 1,000 adult patients.
