Vital signs such as heart rate (HR) and respiration rate (RR) are essential physiological parameters that are routinely used to monitor human health and bodily functions. They can be continuously monitored through contact or contactless measurements performed in the home or a hospital. In this study, a contactless Doppler radar W-band sensing system was used for short-range, contactless vital sign estimation.

Lattice-based mean-field models of ionic liquids neglect charge discreteness and ion correlations. To address these limitations, we propose separating the short-range and long-range parts of the electrostatic interaction by truncating the Coulomb potential below a fixed distance that is equal to or slightly larger than that between neighboring ions. Interactions and correlations between adjacent ions can then be modeled explicitly, whereas longer-ranged electrostatic interactions are captured on the mean-field level.

Precious metal electrical contact materials are pivotal in microelectronic devices due to their excellent chemical stability and electrical properties. Their practical application is hindered by the strength, contact resistance, and high cost. Multi-principal elements alloys (MPEAs) provide the possibility to develop cost-effective materials with enhanced mechanical properties.

This study investigated the interaction between yam starch (YS) and soy protein isolate hydrolysate (SPH), and their effects on in vitro digestibility of starch through extrusion treatment. Results indicated that SPH with 6 % hydrolysis degree had the lowest relative molecular mass. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy revealed an increase in the relative crystallinity of extruded yam starch (EYS) from 17.

Programming precise and specific microbial intraspecies or interspecies interaction would be powerful for microbial metabolic regulation, signal pathway mechanism understanding, and therapeutic application. However, it is still of great challenge to develop a simple and universal method to artificially encode the microbial interactions without interfering with the intrinsic cell metabolism. Here, we proposed an extensible and flexible framework nucleic acid strategy for encoding the specific and precise microbial interactions upon self-assembly.
