The collaboration between the oncology and geriatrics teams of Senlis hospital (Picardie) resulted in the creation in 2006 of a pilot oncogeriatrics coordination unit. This initiative of the Picardie region led to the setting up of the Oncageoise oncogeriatrics town-hospital network. The main aim of this network is to facilitate access to treatment and coordinate the care of elderly patients suffering from cancer.

Depression is a common and disabling disorder in later life, particularly among people with poor physical health. There are many screening tools available that can be used to examine depressive symptoms; however, not all of them may be appropriate or accurate for older adults with cancer. Background: Ageing is associated with an increased prevalence of comorbidities and sarcopenia as well as a decline of functional reserve of multiple organ systems, which may lead, in the context of the disease-related and/or treatment-related stress, to functional deconditioning. The multicomponent 'Prehabilitation & Rehabilitation in Oncogeriatrics: Adaptation to Deconditioning risk and Accompaniment of Patients' Trajectories (PROADAPT)' intervention was developed multiprofessionally to implement prehabilitation in older patients with cancer.
Methods: The PROADAPT pilot study is an interventional, non-comparative, prospective, multicentre study.
