Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, leading to progressive dilation of cardiac chambers, abnormal contraction patterns of the atria and ventricles and, potentially, atrioventricular valvular insufficiency. Moreover, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is often present and closely intertwined with disease initiation and progression. Surgical valve repair with a true-sized ring annuloplasty is a well-established treatment option in atrial functional mitral regurgitation.

An 80-year-old female patient underwent redo aortic valve replacement for haemolysis caused by moderate paravalvular leakage 1 year after a 21-mm Intuity Elite valve implantation. The elevatorium passed at the segment with paravalvular leakage. The frame was then bent inward using a hook and the peel around the sawing ring was shaved by an elevatorium.

Objectives: The Hemispherical Aortic Annuloplasty Reconstructive Technology (HAART) ring is a rigid, internal and geometric device. The objective of this article is to assess the mid-term outcomes of aortic valve repair (AVr) using this prosthesis.
Methods: A prospectively maintained database was used to obtain outcomes for adult patients undergoing AVr using the HAART ring between September 2017 and June 2023.
