Hypothesis: The proto-oncogen cyclin D1 has been implicated in the development and behavior of vestibular schwannoma. This study evaluates the association between cyclin D1 expression and other known prognostic factors in facial function outcome 1 year after vestibular schwannoma surgery.

Methods: Sixty-four patients undergoing surgery for vestibular schwannoma were studied. Immunohistochemistry analysis was performed with anticyclin D1 in all cases. Cyclin D1 expression, as well as other demographic, clinical, radiologic, and intraoperative data, was correlated with 1-year postoperative facial function.

Results: Good 1-year facial function (Grades 1-2) was achieved in 73% of cases. Cyclin D1 expression was found in 67% of the tumors. Positive cyclin D1 staining was more frequent in patients with Grades 1 to 2 (75%) than in those with Grades 3 to 6 (25%). Other significant variables were tumor volume and facial nerve stimulation after tumor resection. The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve increased when adding cyclin D1 expression to the multivariate model.

Conclusion: Cyclin D1 expression is associated to facial outcome after vestibular schwannoma surgery. The prognostic value of cyclin D1 expression is independent of tumor size and facial nerve stimulation at the end of surgery.

<b>Background and Objective:</b> Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Indonesia, where traditional herbal treatments like <i>Zanthoxylum acanthopodium</i> (andaliman) are culturally used. Investigating protein biomarkers such as E7, pRb, EGFR and p16 can help assess the efficacy of these treatments. <b>Materials and Methods:</b> There were 5 groups in this study: 2 control groups (C- and C+) and 3 treatment groups (each receiving one of three doses).

Background: Isolated immunohistochemical indicators are limited to diagnose melanocytic neoplasms. This retrospective study is to assess the diagnostic value of combined immunohistochemical analysis targeting preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma (PRAME) and p16 in melanocytic neoplasms, with a detailed focus on arcal lesions.

Methods: This was a single center cohort study from January 2022 to June 2023.

HR/HER2-low breast cancer is a significant subgroup of conventional HR/HER2-negative breast cancer, and combination of CDK4/6 inhibitor and endocrine therapy is the standard first-line and second-line treatments for advanced HR/HER2-low breast cancer. Nevertheless, it remains uncertain whether HER2 signaling affects the effectiveness of CDK4/6 inhibitor administered in combination with endocrine therapy for HR/HER2-low breast cancer and suitable intervention measures. This study revealed poor efficacy for CDK4/6 inhibitor combined with endocrine therapy for HR/HER2-low breast cancer in vitro and in vivo models.

Epilepsy is a common brain function disorder. The present study aims to evaluate the long-term effect of perampanel (PRM) and lacosamide (LCM), administered singly in a high-dose or in a low-dose combination of both, on comorbid anxiety, cognitive impairment, BDNF, and Cyclin D1 hippocampal expression in an experimental model of temporal lobe epilepsy with lithium-pilocarpine. Objectives: Cyclosporine A promotes gingival fibrosis by enhancing the proliferation of gingival fibroblasts, leading to gingival overgrowth. The population of gingival fibroblasts is regulated by cell cycle machinery, which balances cell growth and inhibition. Cells that detect DNA damage pause at the G1/S checkpoint to repair the damage instead of progressing to the S phase.
