Background And Objective: to analyze the efficacy of low-energy selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) in patients.
Patients And Methods: in 74 patients (74 eyes) with ocular hypertension, suspected glaucoma, or primary open-angle glaucoma, SLT was the first-choice treatment. Thirty-nine patients in the low-energy group received treatment using half of conventional laser energy over 360° of the trabecular meshwork (at 100 points). Thirty-five patients in the control group received conventional laser energy. Patients were observed for 1 year. Complications and intraocular pressure (IOP) were observed.
Results: postoperative transient IOP spike (≥ 3 mm Hg) occurred in three eyes on the day of treatment and partial peripheral anterior synechiae occurred in one eye 1 month after treatment only in the control group. Effective rates of treatment (≥ 20% IOP reduction) at week 2 and month 1, 3, 6, and 12 after treatment were 69.23%, 64.10%, 61.54%, 53.85%, and 48.72% in the low-energy group and 71.43%, 71.43%, 60%, 51.43%, and 48.57% in the control group, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups at various time points (P = .836, .501, .892, .835, .990).
Conclusion: compared with SLT using conventional laser energy, low-energy SLT lowers IOP with fewer complications, making it a safe and effective option.

Purpose: RVVC is defined as four or more episodes of candidiasis in a 12-month period. Conventional treatment is complex and often involves long-term medication use or multiple treatments. ABL therapy is a promising treatment option as it is acceptable to women and has only rare side effects.

The angular dependence of random laser (RL) generation in a commercially available rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) dye has been demonstrated using ZnO-CuO heterostructure as passive scatterers. The grass-like superstructure formed at a 1M:1M molar ratio of ZnO-CuO significantly enhances scattering, resulting in RL spikes with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of just a few nanometer and a noticeable reduction in the RL threshold. RL emission spectra were collected over an angular spread of 0-180 degrees, revealing a remarkable shift in RL emission from 566 nm to 580 nm.

This review focused on mass spectrometry imaging (MSI), a powerful tool in food analysis, covering its ion source schemes and procedures and their applications in food quality, safety, and nutrition to provide detailed insights into these aspects. The review presented a detailed introduction to both commonly used and emerging ionization sources, including nanoparticle laser desorption/ionization (NPs-LDI), air flow-assisted ionization (AFAI), desorption ionization with through-hole alumina membrane (DIUTHAME), plasma-assisted laser desorption ionization (PALDI), and low-temperature plasma (LTP). In the MSI process, particular emphasis was placed on quantitative MSI (QMSI) and super-resolution algorithms.

In this study, we present a laser micromachining setup that enables the preparation of the desired surface geometry without the need for parameter exploration. The setup consists of a laser scanning system, a coaxial imaging system, a paraxial laser line projector, and a three-axis stage.

Unlike continuous-wave laser-based PCS systems, our approach mitigates the non-ideal characteristics of the pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS), such as sloped edges and amplitude jitters, resulting in a more ideal compression process. Additionally, the high harmonic components of the optical pulses further facilitate wideband downconversion, improving the system's operating frequency range.
