This comparative study with high-fidelity simulation measured students' perceptions of the learning effectiveness of two different levels of assignments (simple vignettes versus complex scenarios). The assignments were evaluated on critical thinking, assessment, and learner satisfaction with the teaching method. No significant difference was found between the means of the simple versus complex assignments on any of the three variables or the total score. In the qualitative comments, students identified that both simple and complex scenarios can be used to help them learn different aspects of the nursing role. Faculty new to this technology can use simple scenarios to learn how to manage the simulation program and still create an effective learning activity.

Purpose: To examine the association between blastocyst morphology and chromosomal status utilizing pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A).

Methods: A single-center retrospective cohort study including 169 in-vitro fertilization cycles that underwent PGT-A using Next Generation Sequencing (2017-2022). Blastocysts were morphologically scored based on Gardner and Schoolcraft's criteria.

Division of Sleep Medicine, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Study Objectives: Evaluate the performance of the SANSA device to simultaneously assess obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and cardiac arrhythmias.

Methods: Participants suspected or known to have OSA underwent polysomnography (PSG) while wearing SANSA. SANSA's algorithm was trained using 86 records and tested on 67 to evaluate training bias.

Towards the Stable Chelation of Radioantimony(V) for Targeted Auger Theranostics.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

January 2025

Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Chemical Sciences Division, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Antimony-119 (119Sb) is one of the most attractive Auger-electron emitters identified to date, but it remains practically unexplored for targeted radiotherapy because no chelators have been identified to stably bind this metalloid in vivo. In a departure from current studies focused on chelator development for Sb(III), we explore the chelation chemistry of Sb(V) using the tris-catecholate ligand TREN-CAM. Through a combination of radiolabeling, spectroscopic, solid-state, and computational studies, the radiochemistry and structural chemistry of TREN-CAM with 1XX/natSb(V) were established.

Effect of Time-Lapse Incubation System on In Vitro Development of Alpaca Embryos.

Reprod Domest Anim

February 2025

Veterinary Embryology Laboratory, Professional School of Veterinary Medicine, Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco, Sicuani-Cusco, Peru.

Currently, incubators with a time-lapse system are widely used for in vitro embryo production in several species, however, their effect on alpaca embryo development compared to conventional incubators remains unknown. The aim of this study was to compare early in vitro embryo development in alpacas using a time-lapse incubator system versus a conventional incubator. Ovaries were obtained from a slaughterhouse and 1048 cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were collected and in vitro matured for 26 h in either a time-lapse system (n = 542) or a conventional incubator (n = 542).

Objective: This study aimed to compare perioperative outcomes and progression-free and overall survival in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) versus those without after hyperthermic intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for ovarian cancer.

Methods: This is a retrospective, single-institution cohort study of patients with ovarian cancer treated with HIPEC at the Cleveland Clinic from January 2009 to December 2022. All patients received HIPEC with cisplatin and renal protection with mannitol and furosemide.
