Hypoxia Regulates Brown Adipocyte Differentiation and Stimulates miR-210 by HIF-1α.

Int J Mol Sci

Institute for Cardiovascular Prevention (IPEK), Faculty of Medicine, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, 81377 Munich, Germany.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short sequences of single-stranded non-coding RNAs that target messenger RNAs, leading to their repression or decay. Interestingly, miRNAs play a role in the cellular response to low oxygen levels, known as hypoxia, which is associated with reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress. However, the physiological implications of hypoxia-induced miRNAs ("hypoxamiRs") remain largely unclear.

Regulatory T cells (T) accumulate in the visceral adipose tissue (VAT) to maintain systemic metabolic homeostasis but decline during obesity. Here, we explored the metabolic pathways controlling the homeostasis, composition, and function of VAT T under normal and high-fat diet feeding conditions. We found that cholesterol metabolism was specifically up-regulated in ST2 VAT T subsets.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of hormone therapies on the body composition, adipokines and metabolic parameters of adult men with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH).

Methods: Sixty-six patients with CHH and 21 healthy controls were recruited. Patients were divided into untreated (n = 33) and treated (n = 33) groups based on hormone therapy history.

METTL3 promotes osteogenesis by regulating N6-methyladenosine-dependent primary processing of hsa-miR-4526.

Stem Cells

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases & National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, Department of Orthodontics, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University, Chengdu, 610041 Sichuan, China.

The function and mechanism of pri-miRNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification in promoting miRNA maturation and regulating osteoblastic differentiation are not fully understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the role and regulatory mechanism of miRNA shear maturation regulated by methyltransferase like 3 (METTL3) in human adipose-derived stem cell (hASC) osteogenesis. Firstly, we found METTL3 promoted osteogenesis both in vivo and in vitro.

ADSCs-derived exosomes suppress macrophage ferroptosis via the SIRT1/NRF2 signaling axis to alleviate acute lung injury in sepsis.

Int Immunopharmacol

January 2025

Department of Burns and Cutaneous Surgery, Xijing Hospital, the Fourth Military Medical University, 127 Changle West Road, Xi'an, Shaanxi 710032, China. Electronic address:

Acute lung injury being one of the earliest and most severe complications during sepsis and macrophages play a key role in this process. To investigate the regulatory effects and potential mechanisms of adipose mesenchymal stem cell derived-exosomes (ADSC-exo) on macrophages and septic mice, ADSCs-exo was administrated to both LPS-induced macrophage and cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) induced sepsis mice. ADSCs-exo was confirmed to inhibit M1 polarization of macrophages and to reduce excessive inflammation.
