The language skills of 4 children treated for tumors involving the cerebellum and/or fourth ventricle with risk-adapted treatments were compared, as a group, with performance of a group of control children (n = 20). The language skills of the individual cases were also profiled. At the group level, language skill failed to differentiate the 2 groups of children. At an individual level, however, only 1 of the 4 children treated with risk-adapted treatments presented with intact language skills. Variable language profiles were identified in the remaining 3 children. The presence of hydrocephaly was a consistent factor in reduced language outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of prospective language monitoring.

Background: Standard radiotherapy (RT) for locally advanced NSCLC (LA-NSCLC) employs a uniform dose of approximately 60 Gy. Recent trials demonstrated that radiotherapy dose escalation may not improve outcomes and may cause added toxicity. XXX previously performed a single-arm trial testing a personalized, risk-adapted, and de-intensified RT strategy.

The efficacy and safety of total marrow irradiation (TMI) plus a reduced dose of melphalan as autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) preconditioning for multiple myeloma (MM) patients were evaluated. The 11 patients with MM had a median age of 57 (range: 46-75) years; six of them were at standard risk and five of them were at high risk based on the Mayo Stratification of Myeloma and Risk-adapted Therapy (mSMART) standard risk factors. Before ASCT, three patients achieved stringent complete response (sCR), two patients achieved complete remission (CR), and the rest of the patients had either partial response (PR) or progressive disease.

The superiority of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) over conventional staging methods such as computed tomography (CT) and bone scintigraphy has now been demonstrated for almost all clinical stages of prostate cancer. In primary diagnostics, PSMA-PET/CT is therefore the new standard for risk-adapted whole-body staging. At the same time, PSMA-PET/CT provides a new risk-based classification for predicting overall survival across all early and late stages of the disease.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a highly heterogeneous disease characterised by neoplastic clonal plasma cell proliferation and a wide range of clinical manifestations including skeletal destruction, hypercalcemia, anaemia, renal failure, and immune suppression. Currently accepted and widely used staging criteria for MM patients are the International staging system (ISS) and the Revised International staging system (R-ISS). In order to anticipate outcomes for these patients and to select a risk-adapted therapy, a staging approach that can classify MM patients based on risk at the time of diagnosis itself may be helpful.

We previously reported that the area under the curve of log-transformed cytomegalovirus antigenemia (CMV-AUC) until 100 days after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) was associated with an increased risk of non-relapse mortality. We applied a risk-adapted letermovir (LTV) prophylaxis strategy guided by a risk score that predicts a higher CMV-AUC. First, we retrospectively analyzed 278 allo-HCT recipients between 2007 and 2017 (Period 1).
