The technique based on fluorescein-linked lectins used to determine the cell wall structure of anaerobic rumen fungi belonging to genera: Neocallimastix, Piromonas and Sphaeromonas, appears to be an interesting tool for distinguishing between strains. Furthermore this technique shows differences of cell wall composition between different parts of the thallus (spores, sporangia, rhizoïds).

Background: The intercondylar space is defined as the topographic area walled by the intercondylar notch (IN) and encasing the central ligaments of the knee joint. As the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is not only impinged against the roof but also against the lateral wall of the IN, information concerning changes to the IN during the progression of osteoarthritis could be potentially relevant in predicting the future risk for ACL-rupture and -degeneration and ensure preventive measures as early as possible. The 'Harlikar' apple, known for its larger fruit and rich flavor, faces challenges in post-harvest storage. Our study compared the storage characteristics of 'Harlikar' apples at three different harvest stages and found that stage II showed superior storage characteristics. At stage II, the application of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) proved particularly beneficial, resulting in the slowest decline in apple firmness.
