Acyclic diamines are valuable feedstocks for polyamide synthesis. Ruthenium-alkylidene catalysed cross metathesis of amino alkenes is problematic and acyl derivatisation can result in less efficient syntheses, poor catalyst turnover and isomerisation. Temporary amine masking via stable and soluble ammonium salts delivers cyclic and acyclic aminoalkenes in high yield and purity.

The presence of N-nitrosamine impurities in pharmaceutical products is well known. In 2019, it resulted in drug recall by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Soon, several groups identified the presence of many N-nitrosamines (NAs) in various Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and drug formulations worldwide.

A Simple and Sensitive LC-MS/MS Method for the Determination of Mobocertinib and Its Metabolite Desmethyl-Mobocertinib in Human Plasma and Its Application to Clinical Pharmacokinetic Study.

Biomed Chromatogr

February 2025

Yangzhou University Medical College, Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Experimental & Translational Non-coding RNA Research, Institute of Translational Medicine, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China.

Mobocertinib is a potent selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor approved for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer with activating EGFR exon 20 insertions. The aim of this study was to develop a procedure for liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for the determination of mobocertinib and its metabolite desmethyl-mobocertinib in human plasma. The human plasma samples were precipitated with acetonitrile and analyzed using a Waters ACQUITY BEH C column coupled to a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.

Selective detection of mitochondrial Cu in living cells by a near-infrared iridium(III) complex.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

The widespread use of copper (Cu) has raised concerns about environmental pollution and adverse effects on human health, highlighting the need to develop copper detection methods. Developing near-infrared (NIR) luminescent probes for imaging subcellular Cu is still a challenge. In this work, we have developed a luminescence probe based on a NIR iridium(III) complex, which rapidly detects Cu by combining salicylaldehyde and amine groups through a simple Schiff base reaction on the N^N ligand.

Choline Oxidase-Incorporated ATRP-Based Cerium Nanogels as Nanozymes for Colorimetric Detection of Hydrogen Peroxide and Choline.

Biosensors (Basel)

November 2024

Department of BioNano Technology, Gachon University, 1342 Seongnamdae-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam 13120, Republic of Korea.

Choline is an important molecule in monitoring food safety and infant nutrition. Here, we report Ce nanogels synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) employing Ce-coordinated acryloyl-lysine polymer brushes (Ce@SiO NGs) as highly efficient cascade nanozymes for colorimetric detection of choline. The synthesized Ce@SiO NGs demonstrated remarkable peroxidase-like activity with a porous exterior, which are essential to entrap choline oxidase (COx) to yield COx@Ce@SiO NGs and construct a cascade reaction system to detect choline.

The locus coeruleus (LC) plays a vital role in cognitive function through norepinephrine release. Impaired LC neuronal health and function is linked to cognitive decline during ageing and Alzheimer's disease. This study investigates age-related alterations in olfactory detection and discrimination learning, along with its reversal, in Long-Evans rats, and examines the effects of atomoxetine (ATM), a norepinephrine uptake inhibitor, on these processes.
