Purpose: We report a novel technique which enables to cut any kind of foldable lens and extract it using capsulorhexis forceps and a 1.2 mm single-use slit angled knife.
Methods: The technique consists in using the capsulorhexis forceps to mantain and stabilize the IOL in the anterior chamber, and while one hand holds the IOL in that way, the second hand introduces a 1.

Context: Most major urban areas in the US, including Seattle and King County, have a long-standing lack of public restrooms, handwashing stations, and drinking water, presenting public health risks.
Objective: To aid decision-makers in expanding access, we review available information regarding successful hygiene programs in urban settings to identify shared characteristics and costs.
Design: We reviewed 10 journal articles, 49 news articles, and 54 pieces of gray literature including reports, white papers, and online resources describing real-world hygiene, sanitation, and drinking water programs in US and global urban settings.

- The study analyzed medication patterns for opioid use disorder (MOUDs) during pregnancies among a cohort of 3,911 expectant mothers with opioid use disorder (OUD) from seven clinical sites.
- It found that over 90% of pregnancies involving methadone were among publicly insured individuals, and there was an increasing usage of buprenorphine with naloxone and naltrexone in recent years.
- The research highlighted that most prenatal care and MOUD documentation occurred within the same trimester, but discontinuity in MOUD treatments across trimesters still existed, indicating a need for improved access to care during pregnancy.

Slicing tissue samples into thin pieces is commonly used in histology analysis and more recently for organotypic culture when tissue samples are sliced alive. Currently available devices for slicing tissue samples are either designed for fixed tissue samples at low cryogenic temperatures (, Cryostats), or bulky and expensive (, vibratome), preventing them from routine lab usage. Here we report a cost-effective device designed to section live tissues for subsequent culture.
