Unlabelled: Thiosulfate-citrate-bile salts-sucrose (TCBS) agar is a selective and differential media for the enrichment of pathogenic . We observed that an exonuclease VII ( ) mutant of failed to grow on TCBS agar, suggesting that DNA repair mutant strains may be hampered for growth in this selective media. Examination of the selective components of TCBS revealed that bile acids were primarily responsible for toxicity of the mutant.

The widespread use of antibiotics in livestock and poultry leads to antibiotic residues in food, posing public health risks. To ensure food safety, monitoring antibiotic levels in dairy and poultry is essential, especially for Penicillin-G (Pen-G), a frequently used β-lactam antibiotic. This study presents an electrochemical aptasensor for detecting Pen-G in food samples, using chemically reduced graphene oxide (crGO) conjugated with Pen-G-specific aptamer on electrode.

THSWD has the effect of reducing inflammation, improving microcirculation, and regulating immune status in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Regardless of its clear therapeutic effect, the underlying mechanism of action against hepatocellular carcinoma is not clear. To identify critical gut microbiota and its associated metabolites related to THSWD inhibition against hepatocellular carcinoma progression, we assessed the microbe-dependent anti-hepatocellular carcinoma effects of THSWD through 16 s rRNA gene sequencing, fecal microbial transplantation and antibiotic treatment.

Background: Lower urinary tract disease is a common clinical condition in dogs, usually presenting with dysuria, pollakiuria and haematuria. Diabetes mellitus is a predisposing factor for urinary tract infection in both humans and dogs and does not necessarily present with clinical signs. In this case report, we describe for the first time a case of cystitis glandularis in a dog with diabetes mellitus, associated with Escherichia coli urinary tract infection.
