Urinary incontinence (UI) has a far-reaching impact on the medical, social, and psychological well-being of older adults. This article describes the steps taken to develop and implement a UI evidence-based guideline that achieved success in enhancing the Outcome and Assessment Information Set urinary outcome scores. It describes a process of putting evidence into practice, how it is related to the performance improvement process, specific barriers the authors faced in their performance improvement efforts, lessons learned, and the Home Health Compare outcomes data that ultimately proved the success of the efforts and challenges encountered after implementation.

Acidification is a key component of digestion throughout metazoans. The gut digestive fluid of many invertebrates is acidified by the vesicular-type H+-ATPase (VHA). In contrast, vertebrates generate acidic gut fluids using the gastric H+/K+-ATPase (HKA); an evolutionary innovation linked with the appearance of a true stomach that greatly improves digestion, absorption, and immune function.

Study Design: A cross-sectional analysis of 10,000 cervical spine X-rays.
Objective: This study investigates the variations in C6S and C7S across demographic factors (gender, age, cervical curvature, symptoms) and explores their correlation. Additionally, machine learning models are applied to improve the accuracy of C7S prediction.

Background: Mobile stroke units, also sometimes called Mobile Stroke Treatment Units (MSTUs) are changing the paradigm of acute stroke care and are considered to be an extension of the time is brain concept. Of the <20 active Mobile Stroke Programs in the United States, most are rooted in urban settings. In July 2023, the first MSTU in Florida was launched in Alachua County, implementing a unique and innovative rendezvous process with rural emergency medical services (EMS).

An imaging biomarker that more strongly correlates with post-EVT functional outcome would be helpful for clinical prognosis and serve as a surrogate outcome measure in trials of EVT-adjuvant therapies. Here, we aimed to validate a novel MRI-based metric, infarct density, which leverages post-EVT apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) as a marker of infarct severity.

Background: Transcatheter renal denervation (RDN) remains inconsistent despite developments in ablation technologies, due to the lack of an intraprocedural physiological end point.
Objective: To identify whether aorticorenal ganglion (ARG) guided RDN using microwave (MW) catheter leads to more consistent denervation outcomes compared with empirical MW ablation.
Methods: Pigs underwent sham procedure (n=8) or bilateral RDN using an in-house built open-irrigated MW catheter.
