Background: Histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis (HNL) is a rare benign self-limiting inflammatory disease that mainly affects young adults; however, the exact pathogenesis is unknown. A four-year-old child who was diagnosed with HNL combined with autoimmune encephalitis (AE) was admitted to Tongji Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. This study aimed to describe the clinical characteristics, laboratory tests, imaging findings, and treatment outcomes of this pediatric patient with HNL + AE.

Early childhood caries (ECC) continues to be a major global dental health concern for young children. This case report examines a young patient's transformation from decay to delight via comprehensive esthetic treatment. ECC in a four-year-old child resulted in significant dental caries and poor esthetics.

Myopathy is a common manifestation in mitochondrial disorders, but the pathomechanisms are still insufficiently studied in children. Here, we report a severe, progressive mitochondrial myopathy in a four-year-old child, who died at eight years. He developed progressive loss of muscle strength with nocturnal hypoventilation and dilated cardiomyopathy.

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) also known as rheumatoid purpura is the most common vasculitis in children. This condition affects small blood vessels, predominantly targeting the skin, digestive system, joints, and kidneys. Short-term prognosis mainly depends on abdominal complications, while long-term prognosis is mainly determined by the severity of kidney involvement, which occurs in about 35% of cases.
