The effect of niphangin (calcium antagonist) on the hemodynamics, gaseous exchange and course of the disease was studied in 65 patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis complicated by cor pulmonale. Synchronous registration of ECG, PCG, tetrapolar rheography, phlebography. It was found that niphangin used in the complex treatment of cor pulmonale allowed to improve the gaseous exchange, central and peripheral hemodynamics and effected favourably the course of the disease.

Microplastics pose a serious ecological threat to agricultural soils, as they are very persistent in nature. Microplastics can enter the soil system in different ways and present different shapes and concentrations. However, little is known about how plants react to microplastics with different concentrations and shapes.

The unique optical properties of perovskite quantum dots (PQDs), particularly the tunable photoluminescence (PL) across the visible spectrum, make them a promising tool for chlorinated detection. However, the correlation between the fluorescence emission shift behavior and the interface of phase transformation in PQDs has not been thoroughly explored. In this study, we synthesized CsPbBr PQDs via the hot-injection method and demonstrated their ability to detect chlorinated volatile compounds such as HCl and NaOCl through a halide exchange process between the PQDs' solid thin film and the chlorinated vapor phase.

Background: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) comprise thousands of fluorinated chemicals. They are of growing concern because many PFAS compounds are persistent and toxic. Food contact materials (FCM) containing PFAS pose multiple exposure pathways to humans, prompting twelve states to enact laws banning FCM with PFAS levels exceeding 100 ppm of TOF.

Melatonin is considered an effective bio-stimulant that is crucial in managing several abiotic stresses including drought. However, its potential mechanisms against drought stress in fragrant roses are not well understood. Here, we aim to investigate the role of melatonin on plants cultivated under drought stress (40 % field capacity) and normal irrigation (80 % field capacity).

Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is a form of respiratory support provided primarily to preterm born infants in an effort to avoid any endotracheal intubation or as a weaning step following invasive ventilation. In the context of the respiratory distress syndrome of the newborn, NIV could target and partially reverse specific pathophysiological phenomena, by improving alveolar recruitment and establishing adequate functional residual capacity. It can also assist in minimizing lung injury by avoiding excessive pressure delivery, which can be harmful for the developing lung.
