Introduction/aims: Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T) is a genetic multisystem neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cerebellar ataxia, oculocutaneous telangiectasia, extrapyramidal involvement, peripheral sensorimotor neuropathy, immunodeficiency, pulmonary disease, and an increased risk of malignancy that ultimately determines the shortened lifespan in many patients. A-T nerve ultrasonographic characteristics remain underexplored. This pilot study aimed to characterize the ultrasonographic morphology of peripheral nerves in patients with A-T.

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome that can be treated in a variety of ways, including manual therapy, massage, and acupuncture.
Purpose: Traditional conservative treatment techniques have been widespread used for treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), such as manual therapy, massage, and acupuncture. However, there appears to be no consensus about the benefits of traditional conservative treatment techniques for patients with CTS.

Although virtual reality (VR) holds great potential in sensory research, further investigations are needed to assess the impact of immersion on consumer evaluations. Previous studies have limitations, such as a small number of evaluators, inconsistent graphical quality of virtual environments, lack of comparisons with traditional laboratory settings, and insufficient data on consumer engagement during virtual assessments. To address these gaps, this study evaluated consumer engagement using a presence scale, along with acceptance and emotions evoked during the consumption of an industrial beer (American Lager).

The amygdala is a cluster of subcortical nuclei that receives diverse sensory inputs and projects to the cortex, midbrain, and other subcortical structures. Numerous accounts of amygdalar contributions to social and emotional behavior have been offered, yet an overarching description of amygdala function remains elusive. Here we adopt a computationally explicit framework that aims to develop a model of amygdala function based on the types of sensory inputs it receives, rather than individual constructs such as threat, arousal, or valence.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the CNS that causes motor, cognitive, and sensory dysfunctions, with visual disorder being one of the most prevalent. Synaptopathy has been recognized as one of the predominant pathogenic components of MS. We previous characterized inhibition of synaptopathy in the visual thalamus using the cuprizone-induced demyelination MS animal model.
