Nanotechnology, such as nanoelectronic biosensors, is bringing new opportunities and tools to the studies of cell biology, clinical applications, and drug discovery. In this study, crystalline silicon nanowire based field-effect transistors fabricated using top-down approach were employed to parallelly detect pro-inflammatory cytokines in the complex biological fluids (cell culture medium and blood samples) with high specificity and femtomolar sensitivity. Using this technique, the dynamic secretion of TNF-alpha and IL6 was revealed during the immune response of macrophages and rats to the stimulation of bacteria endotoxin. This technique could provide a unique platform to examine the profile of complex immune responses for fundamental studies and diagnosis.

Object: Neuroinflammation mediated by microglia has emerged as a critical factor in ischemic stroke and neuronal damage. Gualou Guizhi Granule (GLGZG) has been shown to suppress inflammation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated microglia, though the underlying mechanisms and its protective effects against neuronal apoptosis remain unclear. This study aims to investigate how GLGZG regulates the Notch signaling pathway in microglia to reduce neuroinflammation and protect neurons from apoptosis.

Introduction: The envelope proteins syncytin-1 and pHERV-W from the Human Endogenous Retroviral family 'W' (HERV-W) have been identified as potential risk factors in multiple sclerosis (MS). This study aims to evaluate both humoral and cell-mediated immune response to antigenic peptides derived from these proteins across different clinical forms and inflammatory phases of MS.
Methods: Indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was employed to measure immunoglobulin G (IgG) responses to syncytin-1 and pHERV-W peptides in MS patients.

Oral ulcer wounds are difficult to heal due to bacterial infections, persistent inflammatory responses, and excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS). Therefore, the elimination of bacteria, removal of ROS, and reduction of inflammation are prerequisites for the treatment of mouth ulcer wounds. In this study, oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) and 3-(aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid-modified hyaluronic acid (HP) were used to form polymer gels through dynamic covalent borate bonds.

Here, a high molecular weight polysaccharide preparation from Ophiocordyceps gracilis was utilized as a stabilizer and dispersant to create nanocomposites based on selenium nanoparticles (GSP-1a-SeNPs). The NPs showed the highest stability at a selenium/polysaccharide mass ratio of 1:1, with no significant change after 28 days of storage at 4 °C. The NPs exhibited a symmetrical spheroid structure with an average diameter of 85.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a prevalent autoimmune disorder primarily targeting the diarthrodial joints. During the progression of RA, fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLSs) exhibit tumor-like behavior, including increased proliferation, inflammation mediation, and aggressive phenotypes, leading to bone erosion. Additionally, T cells in RA acquire pro-inflammatory characteristics, exacerbating the inflammatory environment in affected joints and associated tissues.
