Axial spondyloarthritis manifests as a chronic inflammatory disease primarily affecting the sacroiliac joints and spine. Although chronic back pain and spinal stiffness are typical initial symptoms, peripheral (ie, enthesitis, arthritis, and dactylitis) and extra-musculoskeletal (ie, uveitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and psoriasis) manifestations are also common. Timely and accurate diagnosis is challenging and relies on identifying a clinical pattern with a combination of clinical, laboratory (HLA-B27 positivity), and imaging findings (eg, structural damage on pelvic radiographs and bone marrow oedema on MRI of the sacroiliac joints).

Background: Thoracoscopic surgery training is a critical area in medical education, and understanding the trends and focus areas in this field is vital for enhancing training programs and guiding future research. The study aimed to retrospectively analyze the effects of two training methods for new students in actual thoracoscopic surgery and to summarize the development and trends of research in thoracoscopic surgery training through a bibliometric analysis of the relevant academic literature.
Methods: 72 cases of thoracic surgery students were retrospectively analyzed and divided into observation group (n=36) and control group (n=36) according to different periods.

Surgery has always been the mainstay of melanoma treatment, but the risk of recurrence after curative-intent surgery remains high for some stages of the disease. In this Annals of Surgical Oncology Guidelines Review, we provide an overview of practice changing studies, review international guidelines, and highlight current recommendations and areas of controversy when treating melanoma patients in the adjuvant and neoadjuvant setting. Recent clinical trials have established important roles for adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy in conjunction with surgery for selected patients with stage II, stage III, and even resectable stage IV melanoma.
