Aqueous high internal phase volume ratio (O/W 90/10) Janus emulsions of a vegetable oil and a silicone fluid were prepared in a single step emulsification by the common vibrator equipment. The basis for the unique structure is discussed in relation to pair-wise interactions between the components with especial emphasis on the surfactant concentration in the aqueous phase.

Horses of different ages may have to be killed on-farm for purposes other than slaughter (where slaughter is defined as killing for human consumption) either individually (i.e. on-farm killing of unproductive, injured or terminally ill animals) or on a large-scale (i.

Current challenges in tissue engineering include creation of extracellular environments that support and interact with cells using biochemical, mechanical, and structural cues. Spatial control over these cues is currently limited due to a lack of suitable fabrication techniques. This study introduces Xolography, an emerging dual-color light-sheet volumetric printing technology, to achieve control over structural and mechanical features for hydrogel-based photoresins at micro- to macroscale while printing within minutes.

We present a method for conjugating antigens to gold nanoparticles (GNPs) during their synthesis via gas plasma, eliminating the need for chemical linkers and significantly speeding up the process (taking only 15 min). This fast, linker-free method produces biocompatible and stable GNPs, with potential for immunotherapy applications, such as antigen and antibody conjugation and drug delivery. We demonstrate the conjugation of the antigen Nestin (NES), a tumor marker, to GNPs using two approaches.

Acetaminophen (AP) is a widely used analgesic and antipyretic drug, but its excessive use poses health risks and contributes to environmental contamination. In response to the need for rapid, accurate, and cost-effective detection methods, we developed a highly sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor for AP. The sensor was based on a composite of UIO-66-NH (UN) and an MXene (TiC).

Homogeneous analysis techniques offer several advantages as alternatives to heterogeneous immunoassays, such as simplicity and rapidity. In this study, a visual homogeneous immunoassay without a labeling process was developed based on target-induced steric hindrance to regulate competitive recognition mechanism. Specifically, as the analyte concentration varies, the change of microenvironment based on steric hindrance could affect the recognition of Cu by signal probes.
