Genomic variants causing abnormal splicing play important roles in genetic disorders and cancer development. Among them, variants that cause the formation of novel splice-sites (splice-site creating variants, SSCVs) are particularly difficult to identify and often overlooked in genomic studies. Additionally, these SSCVs are frequently considered promising candidates for treatment with splice-switching antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs).

Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are interesting due to their myriad uses in fields such as catalysis and electrochemistry. Their properties are intimately related to their structures, yet structural understanding is difficult to achieve. This work presents a derivation of an approximate expression for the radial distribution function, ().

Diabetes, a chronic metabolic disease, causes complications such as chronic wounds which are difficult to cure. New treatments have been investigated to accelerate the wound healing. In this study, a novel wound dressing from fibroblast-laden atelocollagen-based hydrogel with Cotinus coggygria's extract was developed for diabetic wound healing.

Transport equipment manufacturers in the automotive and aerospace industries are focused on developing materials that enhance fuel efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. A significant approach is employing lightweight materials like aluminum, magnesium, and polymer-based composites. Polyamide-based composites, particularly nylon 66, as viable alternatives due to their excellent rigidity, chemical resistance, and thermal stability are investigated to address the limitations of traditional thermosetting resins, which are difficult to recycle and have lengthy molding processes that hinder mass production.

Lymphangioma causing pain during pregnancy is not widely reported, but surgical treatment was performed in each of the reported cases. In our patient, lesions arose in the retroperitoneal cavity and caused intense pain from 17 weeks of gestation. However, surgical treatment was considered difficult because of the location of the lesion.
