Purpose: Proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is a complication of retinal detachment which requires multiple vitreoretinal surgical interventions and frequent use of oil endotamponade. In this study, we conducted an in-depth analysis of complications associated with the use of heavy silicone oil in the management of inferior PVR.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study of 20 eyes that underwent vitrectomy for inferior PVR with use of heavy silicone oil (Densiron 68) between March 2021 and October 2022 at Oxford Eye Hospital.

Background: Frequent anti-vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) injections reduce the risk of rapid and severe vision loss in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD); however, due to undertreatment, many patients lose vision over time. New treatments that provide sustained suppression of VEGF-A are needed. RGX-314 (currently known as ABBV-RGX-314) is an adeno-associated virus serotype 8 vector that expresses an anti-VEGF-A antigen-binding fragment, which provides potential for continuous VEGF-A suppression after a single subretinal injection.

Methods: This is a retrospective, comparative study on eyes with pseudophakic rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with inferior causative breaks that had small-gauge pars plana vitrectomy repair using SF 6 and C 2 F 6 tamponade between 2011 and 2020 at a tertiary centre in the United Kingdom. Primary outcome was single surgery anatomical success, and the secondary outcome was best-corrected visual acuity.

A female patient in her 60s presented with an 8-month history of decreased vision in her right eye. She was diagnosed with pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK), and Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) surgery was planned. Intraoperative Descemet membrane detachment (DMD) occurred while inserting the lenticule using the Sheets glide technique.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare visual function, with a focus on contrast sensitivity, between patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) with and without subclinical corneal edema.
Methods: In this cross-sectional, observational, single-center study, 46 pseudophakic eyes of 31 patients with FECD were divided into 2 groups depending on the presence of subclinical corneal edema. All eyes presented with a Krachmer grade of 5 and no clinical corneal edema.
