This study aimed to develop novel hydrogels using polycaprolactone (PCL), nano-silver (Ag), and linalool (Lin) to address the challenge of increasing antimicrobial resistance in healing infected wounds. The hydrogels' morphological properties, in vitro release profiles, antibacterial efficacy, and safety were investigated. Hydrogels were prepared from PCL/Ag, PCL/Lin, and PCL/Ag/Lin formulations and applied to infected wounds.

Our work describes the green synthesis of silver sulfide nanoparticles (AgS NPs) and their formulation into polycaprolactone fibers (PCL), aiming to improve the multifunctional biological performance of PCL membranes as scaffolds. For this purpose, an extract of rosemary () was employed as a reducing agent for the AgS NPs, obtaining irregular NPs and clusters of 5-60 nm, with a characteristic SPR absorption at 369 nm. AgS was successfully incorporated into PCL fibers by electrospinning using heparin (HEP) as a stabilizer/biocompatibility agent, obtaining nanostructured fibers with a ca.

Background: Pseudomonas syringae pv. tagetis (Pstag) causes apical chlorosis on sunflower and various other plants of the Asteraceae family. Whole genome sequencing of Pstag strain EB037 and transposon-mutant derivatives, no longer capable of causing apical chlorosis, was conducted to improve understanding of the molecular basis of disease caused by this pathogen.

Background: To improve understanding of influenza and rurality, we investigated differences in influenza testing and anti-viral treatment rates between micropolitan (muSAs) and metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) using national medical claims data over multiple influenza seasons.
Methods: Using billing data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for those aged 65 years and older, we estimated weekly rates of ordered rapid influenza diagnostic tests (RIDT) and antivirals (AV) among Medicare enrollees by core-based statistical areas (CBSAs) during 2010-2016. We used Negative Binomial generalized mixed models to estimate adjusted rate ratios (aRR) between MSAs and muSAs, adjusting for clustering by CBSA plus explanatory variables.

Electrocatalytic urea synthesis from CO and nitrate holds immense promise as a sustainable strategy, but its complicated synthesis steps and controversial C-N coupling mechanism restrict the design of efficient catalysts. Atomically precise metal cluster materials are ideal model catalysts for investigating the C-N coupling issues. Here we synthesize two atomically precise bimetallic clusters, AgPd(PTFE)(TPP) and AgAu(PTFE)(DPPP), both with icosahedral cores and similar ligands.
