Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a common surgical procedure used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD) and essential tremor. A potential complication of this procedure is hardware failure. The authors report a case of DBS hardware failure in which repeated fractures of the extension wire were caused by abnormal rotational movements of the IPG placed in the loose subclavicular tissue of an overweight female. Implantation of the IPG in the suprascapular area prevented further extension wire fractures. This strategy may be especially relevant in overweight females with loose subclavicular tissue.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate and compare High Dose Rate Brachytherapy (HDR-BT) with Helical Tomotherapy (HT) treatment plans. The focus is on small target volumes near radiation-sensitive organs in the ocular region, to evaluate the advantages of these techniques in treating skin cancer.
Methods: This retrospective observational analysis included patients who underwent skin cancer HDR-BT Freiburg flap treatment between 2019 and 2023.
The standard treatment for displaced pediatric supracondylar fracture of humer us (PSCFH) is closed reduction and percutaneous pinning under image intensifier guidance. This technical note describes Kapandji intrafocal pinning technique (KIPT) for achieving optimal fracture reduction and stable fixation in Gartland Type III or IV extension type PSCFH. In KIPT, a K wire was introduced into the fracture site from the posterior aspect, fracture manipulation was done by levering with wire reducing the posterior displacement of the distal fragment and the wire was fixed to the anterior cortex of the proximal fragment.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the biomechanical properties of SutureTape as an alternative technique for arthrodesis of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint arthrodesis when compared with surgical steel wire.
Methods: A total of 32 fingers (index, long, ring, and small) from two matched pair cadaveric hands were used. K-wire and surgical steel wire were used for MCP and PIP joint arthrodesis of the control group (group I), whereas K-wire and SutureTape were used for the experimental group (group II).

Background: Improved patient outcomes and decreased patellar instability have been reported after medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction for recurrent lateral patellar dislocation; however, there is a lack of comparative evidence on functional outcomes associated with different femoral attachment sites for the MPFL graft.
Purpose: To identify differences in MPFL reconstruction graft isometry with femoral tunnel malpositioning, specifically evaluating isometric differences as the femoral position is moved anterior, posterior, proximal, and distal relative to the Schöttle point, the femoral radiographic landmark of the MPFL.
Study Design: Descriptive laboratory study.
