Since the precursor frequency of naive T cells is extremely low, investigating the early steps of antigen-specific T cell activation is challenging. To overcome this detection problem, adoptive transfer of a cohort of T cells purified from T cell receptor (TCR) transgenic donors has been extensively used but is not readily available for emerging pathogens. Constructing TCR transgenic mice from T cell hybridomas is a labor-intensive and sometimes erratic process, since the best clones are selected based on antigen-induced CD69 upregulation or IL-2 production in vitro, and TCR chains are polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-cloned into expression vectors.

Background: Rapid sequence induction intubation (RSII) is commonly used in emergency surgeries for patients at high risk of aspiration. However, these patients are more susceptible to hypoxemia during the RSII process. High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy has emerged as a potential alternative to traditional face mask (FM) ventilation pre- and apneic oxygenation.

Salt stress disturbs plant growth and photosynthesis due to its toxicity. The ice plant Mesembryanthemum crystallinum is a highly salt-tolerant facultative crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) plant. However, the genetic basis of the salt tolerance mechanisms in ice plants remains unclear.

Purpose: Fish are susceptible to various parasitic infections, with Myxozoa emerging as a major group. A taxonomic study of Myxozoa is essential for the rapid diagnosis of species potentially responsible for epizootic diseases.
Methods: The studied fish was collected from the Kadey River, a tributary of the Sangha River in the Congo Basin in Cameroon, and parasitologically dissected.

Non-invasive ventilation has been used as a pre-oxygenation strategy for rapid sequence intubation in the emergency department and the intensive care unit, yet, limited research has examined its use in the transport setting. These case reports discuss the use of non-invasive ventilation via a Hamilton T1 ventilator (Hamilton Medical) during transport by an air medical crew for pre-oxygenation before intubation in two cases. In both cases, a non-invasive, bilevel-positive airway pressure mode with a backup rate was used to achieve adequate airway pressures while allowing for a two-handed seal by one EMS clinician as the other prepared the equipment and medications.
