Background: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is an uncommon skin tumour with a low to intermediate-grade of malignancy, characterized by progressive growth and a propensity for local recurrence.

Patients And Methods: A retrospective study of a series of 16 consecutive patients with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans who were treated in the host Institution over the last seven years was performed, with special emphasis on the outcome and disease-free interval, as well as recurrence rate over a mean follow-up period of 43.65 months.

Results: The clinicopathological features and results were reviewed. The primary treatment consisted of wide local excision with or without radiotherapy on 13 patients with primary and 3 with recurrent disease, and all patients remained free of disease recurrence during the mean follow-up period.

Conclusion: The results of this study and a review of the literature support the notion that aggressive, wide surgical resection with disease-free margins, with or without radiotherapy decreases local recurrences and offers an excellent probability of cure. The accumulated data also confirm that all patients with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans should be followed up for an extended period, beyond the usual recommended 5-year follow-up, because late recurrences may occur.

Background: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare proliferative condition representing skin sarcomas known to locally recur yet very rarely known to metastasize. A typical characteristic is trunk localization, making vulvar occurrences an exception. Complete resection is the primary treatment.

Spindle cell lipoma (SCL) is a benign adipocytic tumor usually found in the subcutis of the posterior neck, upper back, and shoulder, predominantly in middle-aged males. This case report describes an atypical presentation of SCL in a 26-year-old male with a history of malignant melanoma. The patient presented with an erythematous plaque with central hyperpigmentation on the right upper arm, an uncommon location and presentation for SCL.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, low-grade cutaneous sarcoma typically found on the proximal extremities and the trunk, characterized by infiltrative growth and low risk of metastasis. High rates of local recurrence or relatively large tumor sizes can significantly complicate therapeutic management, particularly when 1) surgical intervention is not adequately performed and /or 2 access to newer medications is limited or their high cost imposes a financial burden on patients. We present the case of a 63-year-old male with a histologically confirmed dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, measuring 6 cm in diameter, located on the right dorsal region, accompanied by several confluent multifocal nodules situated infralaterally to the primary formation.

Triple primary malignancies are rare, involving the occurrence of three distinct, unrelated cancers in a single patient, requiring a personalized, multidisciplinary treatment approach. A 69-year-old male was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP), lung adenocarcinoma, and papillary thyroid carcinoma. After amputation for DFSP, following staging and genetic evaluation, a multidisciplinary tumor board designed a tailored treatment plan, adjuvant chemotherapy for lung adenocarcinoma while monitor regularly the thyroid carcinoma via ultrasound.
