A digital-impulse galvanic coupling as a new high-speed trans-dural (from cortex to the skull) data transmission method has been presented in this paper. The proposed wireless telemetry replaces the tethered wires connected in between implants on the cortex and above the skull, allowing the brain implant to be "free-floating" for minimizing brain tissue damage. Such trans-dural wireless telemetry must have a wide channel bandwidth for high-speed data transfer and a small form factor for minimum invasiveness.

Background: Cerebral hypoperfusion before syncope has been shown in patients with chronic orthostatic intolerance (OI) without tachycardia, but it is unknown if an initial decrease of cerebral blood flow velocity (CBFv) could be related to the vasovagal response (VVR) to head-up tilt test (HUTT).
Objective: The objective of the study was to compare cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and autonomic variables during HUTT in OI patients with or without a VVR.
Methods: We included 74 subjects (58% female, mean age 33 ± 12 years) who underwent a 30-min HUTT and were divided into three groups: OI with VVR positive (VVR+), OI without VVR negative (VVR-), and asymptomatic healthy subjects with negative HUTT (control group).

Trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can noninvasively modulate specific brain regions to dissipate symptoms in treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS). Citing impaired resting state connectivity between cerebellum and prefrontal cortex in schizophrenia, we aimed to study the effect of intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) targeting midline cerebellum in TRS subjects on a randomized rater blinded placebo control study design. In this study, 36 patients were randomly allocated (using block randomization method) to active and sham iTBS groups.

Background: Early neurologic deterioration (END) may occur in patients with anterior circulation ischemic stroke (ACIS) after receiving endovascular treatment (EVT). Hemodynamic insufficiency, re-occlusion, and post-re-canalization hyper-perfusion are likely to play a critical role in END. We hypothesized that hemodynamic changes can predict END in patients with ACIS post-successful EVT using trans-cranial Doppler (TCD).

The cerebellum is recognised to bilaterally modulate sensorimotor function and has recently been shown to play a role in swallowing. Unilateral cerebellar repetitive trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) excites corticobulbar motor pathways to the pharynx but the effects of bilateral versus unilateral cerebellar rTMS on these pathways are unknown. In this three-part cross-over study, healthy participants (n = 13) were randomly allocated to receive unilateral or bilateral 10 Hz cerebellar rTMS.
