Aim: In this study, the main goal was to find a statistically significant difference between eradication treatment plans that used azithromycin and clarithromycin in triple and quadruple eradication plans.
Methods: This retrospective, single-center, observational, non-funded Helicobacter pylori management study examined patients who visited our institutional gastroenterology clinic at the King Hussein Medical Centre in the Royal Medical Services, Amman, Jordan, from January 2023 to May 2024. The most common treatment (TRT) courses are 7 or 10-14 days, so this study divided the therapy length into two categories.

Background: Given the increasing antibiotic resistance and the inadequate acid-suppressing effects of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), it is crucial to continuously optimize existing Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) treatment regimens. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of novel potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB)-based eradication regimens compared with traditional PPI-based regimens for the initial treatment of H.

It is common to routinely prescribe gastric ulcer prophylaxis with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) when administering high-dose glucocorticoids (GC) (> 30 mg/day of prednisone equivalent) or during prolonged time (> 15 days). This routine is due to a risk profile considered safe for PPIs in comparison to the possible severe consequences of developing a gastric ulcer. Given the numerous adverse effects associated with PPIs, it is preferable to question the risk-benefit balance when prescribing them.
