While bipolar disorder patients can benefit from lithium therapy, high levels of lithium in the serum can induce undesirable systemic side effects. Intranasal (IN) lithium delivery offers a potential solution to this challenge given its potential to facilitate improved lithium transport to brain when delivered to the olfactory mucosa. Herein, a sprayable, in situ forming nanoparticle network hydrogel (NNH) based on Schiff base interactions between chelator-functionalized oxidized starch nanoparticles (SNPs) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCh) is reported that can be deployed within the nasal cavity to release ultra-small penetrative SNPs over time.

Many applications are suggested for Ti-MXene motivating strong interest in studies of TiCT synthesis by solution-based methods. However, so far only ex situ studies of the synthesis are performed, mostly due to the difficulty of handling HF-based solutions. Here the first time-resolved in situ synchrotron radiation X-ray Diffraction study of MXene synthesis performed using a plastic capillary-size reaction cell directly in HF solution is reported.

NbTe is an important material because of its fundamental low-temperature electronic behavior and its potential interest for thermoelectric, catalytic, and phase-change applications, especially as nano- and microscale particles. As a tellurium-rich group V transition metal telluride, bulk NbTe is typically synthesized through high-temperature solid-state or metal flux reactions and NbTe films can be made by sputtering and annealing, but NbTe is generally not amenable to the lower-temperature solution-based syntheses that yield small particles. Here, we demonstrate a solvothermal route to NbTe particles that is based on mainstream colloidal nanoparticle synthesis.

All-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites possess excellent thermal stability, a feature that renders them highly favorable for optoelectronic applications with an elevated thermal budget. Employing a coevaporation approach for their deposition holds promise for manufacturing at an industrial level, owing to improvements in device scalability and reproducibility. For unlocking the full potential of vacuum-evaporated perovskite thin films, it is crucial to delve deeper into their crystallization process, which, as a solid-state reaction, has been less investigated compared to the crystallization process of, most commonly used, solution-based methods.

Soil moisture plays an important role in the water and heat exchanges between the land surface and atmosphere, and it has great importance for agricultural production, ecological planning, and water resources management. Although microwave remote sensing has been widely used in large-scale soil moisture monitoring, the accuracy of the downscaled retrieval results cannot be guaranteed for regions with high vegetation coverage and high soil heterogeneity. To address these challenges, this study built soil moisture indice set based on MODIS and elevation data by calculating the Pearson correlation coefficient (R) and Maximum Information Coefficient (MIC), then constructed decision tree models (Gradient Boosting Decision Tree and Random Forest) about the indice set and low-resolution Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) by using two ensemble learning methods (Bagging and Boosting).
