Precise measurements on electrical conductances of tetraalkylammonium iodides, R(4)NI (R = n-butyl to n-heptyl), in different mass% (0-100) of dichloromethane (DCM) + N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) at 298.15 K have been performed. Limiting molar conductances (Λ(0)), association constants (K(A)) and co-sphere diameter (R) for ion-pair formation in the mixed solvent mixtures have been evaluated using the Fuoss conductance-concentration equation. However, the deviation of the conductometric curves (Λ versus √c) from linearity for the electrolytes in 100 mass% of DCM indicated triple ion formation, and therefore corresponding conductance data have been analyzed by the Fuoss-Kraus theory of triple ions. Limiting ionic molar conductances λ have been calculated by the reference electrolyte method along with a numerical evaluation of ion pair and triple ion formation constants (K(P)≈K(A) and K(T)). The results have been interpreted in terms of ion-solvent interactions and structural changes in the mixed solvents.

Replacing lead in halide perovskites to address the concerns of their toxicity and stability has driven a recent surge in research toward alternative lead-free perovskite materials. Lead-free all inorganic cesium bismuth halide (CsBiX) perovskite nanocrystals have attracted attention in recent years due to the air-stability and non-toxic nature of bismuth. Herein, we demonstrate a facile sonication-assisted approach for the preparation of all-inorganic cesium bismuth iodide (CsBiI) perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) using propylene carbonate as a green, alternative solvent.

For efficient electron injection, a method to control the work functions (WFs) of ZnO electrodes in organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) is reported in this study. First, ZnO was modified by doping of tetraalkylammonium salts (TRAX) into polyethylenimine ethoxylated (PEIE) for the WF control. Tetrabutylammonium salts (TBAX), where X = chloride, bromide, iodide, acetate, thiocyanate, and tetrafluoroborate anions, were doped into PEIE.

The binding properties of neutral halogen-bond donors (XB donors) bearing two multidentate Lewis acidic motifs toward halides were investigated. Employing polyfluorinated and polyiodinated terphenyl and quaterphenyl derivatives as anion receptors, we obtained X-ray crystallographic data of the adducts of three structurally related XB donors with tetraalkylammonium chloride, bromide, and iodide. The stability of these XB complexes in solution was determined by isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and the results were compared to X-ray analyses as well as to calculated binding patterns in the gas phase.

The results of diffusion and electrophoretic NMR (eNMR) measurements are reported for a series of tetramethylammonium (TMA) electrolytes (with sulphate, fluoride, acetate, chloride, bromide, nitrate, iodide and perchlorate as anions) in deuterated solvents such as water, dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), acetonitrile, methanol and ethanol. In addition, similar data are presented for aqueous solutions of tetraalkylammonium salts with increasing alkyl chain length. The combination of diffusion NMR and eNMR yields the effective charge for the TMA cation.

The title compound, C(11)H(23)NO(5)P(+)·I(-), consists of an eight-membered cationic heterocyclic ring in a boat-chair conformation. The ring features a tetra-alkyl-ammonium N and a methyl-phospho-nate P atom. A -CH(2)(CO)OC(2)H(5) ester side chain at the C adjacent to oxygen produces two chiral centers at that substituted C atom and the P atom, both of which were determined to have absolute R,R configurations.
