Human papillomavirus (HPV)-related benign papillary epithelial neoplasms are common lesions affecting any region of the oral cavity. This study evaluated the trends in frequency, location, and demographics of these lesions over 20 years in a large biopsy service. Following IRB approval, the archives of UF Oral Pathology Biopsy Service between 1995 and 2015 were queried.

Oral verruca vulgaris is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Verruca vulgaris most frequently occurs on the fingers, toes, soles, and dorsal surfaces of hands and is mostly asymptomatic. Varieties of verrucous and papillary lesions affect the skin as well as oral mucosa which may be either benign or reactive.

Condyloma acuminatum (CA) is a human papillomavirus-induced sexually transmitted disease which is characterised by epithelial proliferation in the genital region, perianal region, oral cavity and larynx. It was first reported by Knapp and Uohara in 1967. The disease is more common in children and teenagers and appears as solitary or multiple, pinkish, sessile papules or plaques with pebbled surface or as pedunculated papillary lesions.

Unlabelled: The histological changes of the oral mucosa in contact with a metal alloy dentures is one of the current issues widely debated in the literature.
Aim: To highlight the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in human paraprosthetic gingival mucosa exposed to nickel and copper compounds using the immunohistochemical technique. The selected participants were wearers of fixed dentures made of nickel-based alloys and copper-based alloys.

The oral mucosa is a component of the oral ecosystem, which can be aggressed by corrosion products released from the dental alloys used in prosthetic dentistry therapy. The purpose of this study was to compare the in vivo effect of nickel and copper compounds on the oral mucosa cells, including their ability to induce cell death, by analyzing the cytochrome c (cyt. c) immunohistochemical expression.
