Depression is one of the highest ranking causes of disease burden worldwide but remains underrecognized and undertreated in clinical settings. Measurement-based care is the standard of care strived for by leading psychiatric researchers and is considered treatment as usual in other areas of medicine. However, routine measurement has yet to be implemented in all clinical practices for the detection and treatment of mental disorders such as depression. Physicians may help to improve illness outcomes and reduce illness burdens of patients with depression by using measurement-based care, including standardized measurement instruments and treatment algorithms in all phases of the treatment process.

Background: 2022 survey data showed 29% of Veterans utilized Veterans Affairs (VA) paid health care at a non-VA facility, 6% higher than in 2021. Despite an increase in the number of Veterans accessing care in the community via the MISSION Act Community Care Program (CCP), there is limited information on the quality of mental health care delivered to Veterans in these settings. Further, Veterans report barriers to quality care, including poor communication between CCP and VA providers, which can result in negative patient outcomes.

Introduction: The Brisbane Burn Scar Impact Profile (BBSIP) and the Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS) are used in burn scar assessment to quantify patient health-related quality of life (HR-QoL). These questionnaires were developed using pen-and-paper delivery methods; however, there is a push towards electronic delivery of these questionnaires in both clinical practice and research. Equivalence testing is required to ensure that validity of these paper questionnaires is maintained electronically.

Purpose: Data collection in community organizations can be challenging, but important for evaluative initiatives as well as for therapeutic purposes, such as for organizations engaged in measurement-based care. This study tested the impact of an online measurement data management platform (OMDMP) on mental health assessment response rates at a community-based sexual assault crisis center. We examined whether implementing the OMDMP improved client assessment participation in mental health assessment questionnaires compared to manual data collection methods.

Objectives: (1) to replicate the assessment of the internal construct validity of the Coma Recovery Scale-Revised (CRS-R) within the Rasch Measurement Theory framework using a larger multicenter sample size; (2) to compare the different sets of item diagnostic criteria against the measurement ruler constructed from Rasch analysis to understand how those criteria relate to the overall level of persons' consciousness.
Design: Multicenter retrospective study.
Setting: Seven centers.
