Ca(BH(4))(2)-LiNH(2) combined system is shown to release hydrogen at much lower temperature compared to the pure Ca(BH(4))(2). The improved dehydrogenation in this system can be ascribed to a combination reaction between [BH(4)] and [NH(2)] based on the reaction mechanism of positive H and negative H.

Magnesium hydride (MgH) is a promising material for solid-state hydrogen storage due to its high gravimetric hydrogen capacity as well as the abundance and low cost of magnesium. The material's limiting factor is the high dehydrogenation temperature (over 300 °C) and sluggish (de)hydrogenation kinetics when no catalyst is present, making it impractical for onboard applications. Catalysts and physical restructuring (e.

ConspectusFor chemical reactions with complex pathways, it is extremely difficult to adjust the catalytic performance. The previous strategies on this issue mainly focused on modifying the fine structures of the catalysts, including optimization of the geometric/electronic structure of the metal nanoparticles (NPs), regulation of the chemical composition/morphology of the supports, and/or adjustment of the metal-support interactions to modulate the reaction kinetics on the catalyst surface. Although significant advances have been achieved, the catalytic performance is still unsatisfactory.

The second 3d-transition metal incorporation in Ni-(oxy)hydroxide has a drastic effect on alkaline OER and alcohol dehydrogenation reactivity. While Mn incorporation suppresses the alkaline OER, it greatly improves the alcohol dehydrogenation reactivity. A complete reversal of reactivity is obtained when Fe is incorporated, which shows better performance for alkaline OER with poor alcohol dehydrogenation reactivity.

Bimetallic NiCr nanoparticles decorated on carbon nanofibers (NiCr@CNFs) were synthesized through electrospinning and investigated as catalysts for hydrogen generation from the dehydrogenation of sodium borohydride (SBH). Four distinct compositions were prepared, with chromium content in the catalysts ranging from 5 to 25 weight percentage (wt%). Comprehensive characterization confirmed the successful formation of bimetallic NiCr@CNFs.

The eco-friendly features and desirable catalytic activities of Fe-based catalysts make them highly promising for propane dehydrogenation (PDH). However, simultaneously improving their stability and activity remains a challenge. Here, we present a strategy to address these issues synergistically by anchoring single-atom Fe-Cl sites in Al vacancies of AlO.
