The results of immunomorphologic and histochemical investigations of 12 rabbits with experimental syringomyelia are presented. Chronic pachymeningitis of the hind brain, resulting from the administration of kaolin leads to the disorders of liquor circulation on the level of outlet of the fourth ventricle this being a start mechanism for the cavity formation in the spinal cord. The reactive inflammatory, degenerative and immune reactions accompany the formation of cavity in the nervous tissue. The formation of cavity is followed by asymmetrical segment demyelination and reparative hyperplasia of the astroglial cells and gliosis of the cavity walls.

Candida is a commensal fungus of clinical interest that commonly lives in oral cavity and intestine but can become an opportunist microrganism and cause severe infections. A serie of 10 aminochalcones were designed and synthetized to obtain compounds anti-Candida with potent and broad-spectrum activity. The most active compound J34 demonstrated excellent in vitro activity against Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida parapsilosis, Candida glabrata and Candida krusei with minimum inhibitory concentration between 1.

Background: Spontaneous pneumothorax (SP) has been reported to be associated with osteosarcoma lung metastases, but the computed tomography (CT) characteristics of lung metastases in patients with pneumothorax have not been comprehensively described. The study aimed to describe the CT characteristics of lung metastases in patients with osteosarcoma and to identify factors associated with SP.
Methods: This study comprised 123 patients diagnosed with osteosarcoma lung metastasis at our hospital between January 2016 and December 2021.

Dental caries has been one of the most prevalent diseases globally over the last few decades, threatening human oral and general health. The most critical aspect in caries control is to inhibit the dominant cariogenic bacteria (). Sulforaphane (SFN), a compound found in a wide range of cruciferous plants, has demonstrated bacteriostatic activities against various pathogenic bacteria.

Introduction: The tympanic cavity contains three tiny bones, the malleus, incus, and stapes, which have a fundamental role in the transmission of sound. Recent research emphasizes the use of CBCT for the anatomic study of the temporal bone. The information about middle ear anatomy on CBCT scans is meager; hence, this retrospective study was conducted to identify and determine the various morphometrical parameters of the malleus using CBCT which can be helpful during reconstructive procedures for the otologic surgeon.

We propose a modular addition strategy-regulated polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) system to effectively control the reaction kinetics and self-assembly morphologies. We validated this strategy by performing experiments on a well-established PISA system. Two categories of modular addition strategies, , the multistep addition strategy and the constant rate addition strategy, were investigated.
