Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and endoscopic mucosal resection (ESR) are used to eliminate tiny, flat lesions in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). A substantial submucosal cushion is required for effective dissection. Commonly used saline and hypertonic dextrose injections disperse quickly and do not offer significant elevation, whereas polymers such as gelatin and alginate are challenging to inject.

Methods: The animal experiments and clinical studies of different types of intelligent responsive hydrogels for repairing articular cartilage injury were summarized by reviewing relevant literature at home and abroad.
Results: The intrinsic regenerative capacity of articular cartilage following injury is limited.

Traditional polymer systems often rely on toxic initiators or catalysts for cross-linking, posing significant safety risks. For bone tissue engineering, another issue is that the scaffolds often take a longer time to degrade, inconsistent with bone formation pace. Here, we developed an enzyme-responsive biodegradable poly(propylene fumarate) (PPF) and polycaprolactone (PCL) polyphosphoester (PPE) dendrimer cross-linked utilizing click chemistry (EnzDeg-click-PFCLPE scaffold) for enhanced biocompatibility and degradation.

Childhood nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a serious disease affecting the health and quality of life of children, which is characterized by a series of pathophysiological changes due to the increased permeability of the glomerular membrane to plasma proteins. Low renal drug distribution and inefficient cellular uptake, resulting from cellular dysfunctions of filtration and internalization, are the main barriers to drug treatment in childhood NS, leading to deterioration in nephropathy. However, efficient therapeutic methods against childhood NS are still lacking in clinic.
