Under equilibrium conditions, there are two regimes of target capture on a surface--target limited and probe limited. In the probe limited regime, the melting curve from multiplex target dissociation from the surface exhibits a single transition due to a reverse displacement mechanism of the low affinity species. The melting curve cannot be used in analytical methods to resolve heteroduplexes; only with the simplex system can proper thermodynamics be obtained.

The detection of highly toxic chemicals such as phosgene is crucial for addressing the severe threats to human health and public safety posed by terrorist attacks and industrial mishaps. However, timely and precise monitoring of phosgene at a low cost remains a significant challenge. This work is the first to report a novel fluorescent system based on the Intramolecular Charge Transfer (ICT) effect, which can rapidly detect phosgene in both solution and gas phases with high sensitivity by integrating a benzo[1,2-b:6,5-b']dithiophene-4,5-diamine (BDTA) probe.

Oxazole, a versatile and significant heteroarene, serves as a bridge between synthetic organic chemistry and applications in the medicinal, pharmaceutical, and industrial fields. Polycyclic aromatic compounds with amino groups substituted at the 2-position of an oxazole, such as 2-aminonaphthoxazoles, are expected to be functional probes, but their synthetic methods are extremely limited. Herein, we describe electrochemical reactions of 3-amino-2-naphthol or 3-amino-2-anthracenol and isothiocyanates in DMSO, using a graphite electrode as an anode and a platinum electrode as a cathode in the presence of potassium iodide (KI), which afford -arylnaphtho- and -arylanthra[2,3-]oxazol-2-amines via cyclodesulfurization.

The association between microRNAs and various diseases, especially cancer, has been established in recent years, indicating that miRNAs can potentially serve as biomarkers for these diseases. Determining miRNA concentrations in biological samples is crucial for disease diagnosis. Nevertheless, the stem-loop reverse transcription quantitative PCR method, the gold standard for detecting miRNA, has great challenges in terms of high costs and enzyme limitations when applied to clinical biological samples.

Among the most investigated hypotheses for a radiobiological explanation of the mechanism behind the FLASH effect in ultra-high dose rate radiotherapy, intertrack recombination between particle tracks arriving at a close spatiotemporal distance has been suggested. In the present work, we examine these conditions for different beam qualities and energies, defining the limits of both space and time where a non-negligible chemical effect is expected. To this purpose the TRAX-CHEM chemical track structure Monte Carlo code has been extended to handle several particle tracks at the same time, separated by pre-defined spatial and temporal distances.

: Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) is mainly characterized by renal involvement with progressive bilateral development of renal cysts and volumetric increase in the kidneys, causing a loss of renal function, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and kidney failure. The occurrence of mosaicism may modulate the clinical course of the disease. Mosaicism is characterized by a few cell populations with different genomes.
