Background And Aims: Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), a severe form of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), is characterized by inflammation and fibrosis in the liver, often progressing to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Despite its rising prevalence and significant disease burden, effective pharmacological treatments have been limited to lifestyle modifications and surgical interventions. Recently, resmetirom, a thyroid hormone receptor-β agonist, received FDA approval for treating NASH, offering new hope to patients.

Contex: Detection of parathyroid incidentalomas (PTIs) by ultrasonography (US) generally depends on clinical experience and it can be usually confused with perithyroidal lymph nodes.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the role of US for the detection of PTIs and define clinicopathologic features of PTIs detected during routine neck US.

Design: In this retrospective study, we studied PTIs in a multidisciplinary clinical approach of nuclear medicine and general surgery clinics.

Context: Thyroid hormones play a crucial role in metabolic regulation and maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis. The Parametric Thyroid Feedback Quantile-based Index (PTFQI) assesses central thyroid hormone sensitivity by standardizing the inverse relationship between free thyroxine (T4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).

Objective: To investigate the relationship between PTFQI and cardiovascular risk in the euthyroid Korean population.

Birds have evolved seasonal adaptations in multiple aspects of the innate and adaptive immune systems. Seasonal immunological adaptations are crucial for survival in harsh environmental conditions and in response to increased prevalence of acute and chronic diseases. Similar to other vertebrates, birds exhibit remarkable plasticity in cytokine production, chemotaxis, phagocytosis and inflammation across the year.

Background: CD4+ T lymphocytes are key immune cells involved in orbital inflammation in thyroid eye disease (TED). Inhibition of their activity is important in treatment of TED, but effective drugs targeting these cells are lacking. The programmed cell death-1/programmed cell death ligand-1 pathway has been implicated in several T-cell-mediated diseases.
