We develop an analytical theory, based on the quantum cavity method, describing the quantum phase transitions in low-temperature, strongly disordered ferromagnets and superconductors. At variance with the usual quantum critical points, we find a phase diagram with two critical points separating three phases. When the disorder increases, the systems goes from the ordered phase to an intermediate disordered phase characterized by activated transport and then to a second disordered phase where no transport is possible. Both the ordered and disordered phases exhibit strong inhomogeneity of their basic properties typical of glassy physics.

We report the synthesis of ethylammonium lead iodide (EAPbI) colloidal nanocrystals as another member of the lead halide perovskites family. The insertion of an unusually large -cation (274 pm in diameter) in the perovskite structure, hitherto considered unlikely due to the unfavorable Goldschmidt tolerance factor, results in a significantly larger lattice parameter compared to the Cs-, methylammonium- and formamidinium-based lead halide perovskite homologues. As a consequence, EAPbI nanocrystals are highly unstable, evolving to a nonperovskite δ-EAPbI polymorph within 1 day.

The observation of both resonant quantum tunneling of magnetization (RQTM) and resonant quantum magnetodielectric (RQMD) effect in the perovskite multiferroic metal-organic framework [CHNH]Co(HCOO).is reported. An intrinsic magnetic phase separation emerges at low temperatures due to the hydrogen-bond-modified long-range super-exchange interaction, leading to the coexistence of canted antiferromagnetic order and single-ion (Co) magnets.

The conformational space of 3-chloropropionic acid has been studied under the isolated conditions of a supersonic expansion using Stark-modulated free-jet absorption millimeter-wave and centimeter-wave chirped-pulse Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy techniques. The rotational spectra originating from the three most stable conformers including Cl and Cl isotopologues were observed in both experiments using helium expansion while a partial conformational relaxation involving skeletal rearrangements takes place in an argon expansion. The rotational parameters, geometries, and energy order were determined from the experiment, allowing a comparison with quantum chemical predictions.

Herein, a kind of N-doped fluorescent carbon dots (N-CDs) were prepared by using melamine and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as precursors through a straightforward hydrothermal method. The designed sensor displayed a uniform nanoscale distribution, excellent hydrophilicity, and strong fluorescence emission with a fluorescence quantum yield of 37.98%.

This article studies the synthesis, as well as the structural, vibrational, and optical properties of Eu-doped ZnO quantum dots (QDs) and investigates the energy transfer mechanism from the ZnO host to Eu ions using Reisfeld's approximation. Eu-doped ZnO QDs at varying concentrations (0-7%) were successfully prepared using a wet chemical method. The successful doping of Eu ions into the ZnO host lattice, as well as the composition and valence states of the elements present in the sample, were confirmed through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses.
