Collisions induced by (9,10,11)Be on a 64Zn target at the same c.m. energy were studied. For the first time, strong effects of the 11Be halo structure on elastic-scattering and reaction mechanisms at energies near the Coulomb barrier are evidenced experimentally. The elastic-scattering cross section of the 11Be halo nucleus shows unusual behavior in the Coulomb-nuclear interference peak angular region. The extracted total-reaction cross section for the 11Be collision is more than double the ones measured in the collisions induced by (9,10)Be. It is shown that such a strong enhancement of the total-reaction cross section with 11Be is due to transfer and breakup processes.

Multi-link operation (MLO) is a new and essential mechanism of IEEE 802.11be Extremely High Throughput (Wi-Fi 7) that can increase throughput and decrease latency in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). The MLO enables a Multi-Link Device (MLD) to perform Simultaneous Transmission and Reception (STR) in different frequency bands.

Collisions of halo nuclei within a dynamical eikonal approximation.

Phys Rev Lett

Physique Quantique, C.P. 165/82 and Physique Nucléaire Théorique et Physique Mathématique, C.P. 229, Université Libre de Bruxelles, B 1050 Brussels, Belgium.

The dynamical eikonal approximation unifies the semiclassical time-dependent and eikonal methods. It allows calculating differential cross sections for elastic scattering and breakup in a quantal way by taking into account interference effects. Good agreement is obtained with experiment for 11Be breakup on 208Pb.

No enhancement of fusion probability by the neutron halo of 6He.

Nature

October 2004

DSM/DAPNIA, CEA Saclay, F-91191 Gif sur Yvette Cedex, France.

Quantum tunnelling through a potential barrier (such as occurs in nuclear fusion) is very sensitive to the detailed structure of the system and its intrinsic degrees of freedom. A strong increase of the fusion probability has been observed for heavy deformed nuclei. In light exotic nuclei such as 6He, 11Li and 11Be (termed 'halo' nuclei), the neutron matter extends much further than the usual nuclear interaction scale.
