Thermolysis of the bicyclic gallium hydrazide [(GaMe(2))(4)(NH-NMe)(NH-NHMe)(2)] (1) yielded the unique cage compound [(GaMe)(4)(GaMe(2))(4)(N(2))(NH-NMe)(4)] (2). Compound 2 contains a remarkable hydrazinetetraide moiety, [N-N](4-), as the central structural motif which is stabilised by coordination to six gallium atoms.

Plant-based oils have a long history of use as insect repellents. In an earlier study, we showed that in a 10% concentration, geraniol, 2-phenylethl propionate, and the plant-based essential oils clove and cinnamon effectively protected from mosquito bites for over 60 min. To expand on this study, we reanalyzed our GC-MS data to identify the short organic constituents of these oils.

Introduction: The developed domestic retrodipeptide analogue of cholecystokinin tetrapeptide (CCK) (N-(6-phenylhexanoyl)-glycyltryptophan amide, or compound GB-115) with antagonistic properties in relation to CCK1 receptors has anxiolytic activity previously shown in preclinical and clinical studies. The aim of the study was to evaluate the anxiolytic effect of GB-115 as a tablet form with subchronic oral administration in comparison with phenazepam in nonhuman primates.

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted on four male rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) aged 5.

The complexity of allosteric enzymatic regulation continues to inspire synthetic chemists seeking to emulate interconnected biological systems. In this work, a Pt2L4 cage capable of catalyzing the cyclization reaction of an alkynoic tosyl amide is orthogonally coupled to a diacid-catalyzed carbodiimide-hydration cycle. This new Pt-catalyzed cyclization reaction is demonstrated to exhibit electronic regulation by inclusion of different guest effectors.

Redox-induced dimerisations of a phosphacyclic biradicaloid.

Chem Commun (Camb)

Technical University of Munich, Department of Chemistry, Lichtenbergstr. 4, D-85747, Garching, Germany.

Despite the first examples being isolated more than two decades ago, little is known about the redox chemistry of stable phosphacyclic biradicaloids. Here, we demonstrate that a biradicaloid featuring a diphosphaindenyl backbone is able to undergo both oxidation and reduction reactions. One-electron oxidation results in the formation of a dicationic cage compound structurally related to an isomer of hypostrophene (CH).

Background: Synthesis of the original Schiff base CdCl (CHNO) compound (Schiff base complex) displays an extensive range of bioactivities and was predictably utilized to treat several syndromes.

Purpose: The goal of the existing experiment is to evaluate the gastroprotective effects of a novel Schiff base CdCl₂ (C14H21N3O2) compound in alcohol-induced gastric ulcers in rats by examining its antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory effects, and modulation of key molecular markers, including heat shock protein-70 (HSP-70) and Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) proteins.

Methods: Five groups of rats were utilized in the current study.
