A new anthraquinone compound, 1,3-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-2-methoxymethyl-9,10-anthraquinone (1), along with four known analogues (2-5) were isolated from the roots of Prismatomeris tetrandra. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Among these compounds, lucidin omega-methyl ether (4) and lucidin omega-ethyl ether (5) were isolated from this genus for the first time. Compound 1 showed weak cytotoxic activity against A549 and LAC cell lines.

Introduction: Pulmonary fibrosis is a terminal lung disease characterized by fibroblast proliferation, extracellular matrix accumulation, inflammatory damage, and tissue structure destruction. The pathogenesis of this disease, particularly idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), remains unknown. Macrophages play major roles in organ fibrosis diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis.

Two new anthraquinones, glabraquinone A and B (-) were isolated from the root of (Korth.) Valeton. In addition to the new glabraquinones, six known anthraquinones, that is, 1-hydroxy-2-methoxy-6-methylanthraquinone (), 1,2-dimethoxy-7-methylanthraquinone (), lucidin (), nordamnacanthal (), damnacanthal () and 2-carboxaldehyde-3-hydroxyanthraquinone ()) and an aromatic compound, that is, catechol diethyl ether () were isolated and characterized in this study.

An unusual, new anthracene natural product named filamentos A (), two new anthraquinone derivatives named filamentos B () and C (), together with sixteen known compounds (-), were isolated from the roots of the tree . Their structures were identified by analysis of mass and spectroscopic data (IR, 1D and 2D NMR). Twelve metabolites (-, , -, -) showed moderate antibacterial activities against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as .

Objective: Prismatomeris memecyloides Craib (Rubiaceae) is a medicinal plant traditionally used by ethnic minorities in Vietnam for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical compositions and screen in silico its possible inhibitory effect against PDE-5 which reduced cyclic guanosine-3',5'-monophosphate (cGMP) levels and indirectly caused the male ED.
Methods: Separation of natural compounds were carried out on chromatographic column with silica gel or reversed phase materials, eluting with different solvent gradients.

HG30, a tetrahydroanthraquinone compound isolated from the roots of Prismatomeris connate, was previously shown to inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antitumor activity of HG30 in two non-small cell lung cancer cell lines, A549 and H1299, and to explore potential underlying mechanisms. In cell viability and colony formation assays, HG30 treatment suppressed the proliferation and number of colonies formed by A549 and H1299 cells.
