Purpose: Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and seizures are highly comorbid conditions. However, little research has been done to examine this relationship. The purpose of the current study was to examine the effect that seizure disorder has on symptom presentation in children with autism spectrum disorders as compared to atypically developing children.
Method: The Battelle Developmental Inventory, Second Edition (BDI-2) was used as a measure of impairment across adaptive, personal-social, communication, motor and cognitive skills.
Results: A MANOVA indicated significant main effects between diagnostic group and seizure status, without a significant interaction. Follow-up univariate tests were conducted.
Conclusions: Overall, results indicated that children with ASD were more impaired than atypically developing children. In addition, children with seizures tended to be more impaired than children without seizures.

TGFβ family ligands are synthesized as precursors consisting of an N-terminal prodomain and C-terminal growth factor (GF) signaling domain. After proteolytic processing, the prodomain typically remains noncovalently associated with the GF, sometimes forming a high-affinity latent procomplex that requires activation. For the TGFβ family ligand anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), the prodomain maintains a high-affinity interaction with its GF that does not render it latent.

Purpose: Speech sound disorder (SSD) is one of the major speech disorders in school-age children. Given the heterogeneity in terms of subtypes within SSD, there is a need to develop techniques for a quick identification of these subtypes. Furthermore, given the paucity of studies from children with SSD from Cantonese-speaking homes and a noted prevalence of SSDs in Cantonese-speaking children, it becomes even more important to investigate the subtypes of SSDs in Cantonese-speaking children.

Background And Aims: Cadherins are adhesion proteins, and their dysregulation may result in the development of atherosclerosis, plaque rupture, or lesions of the vascular wall. The aim of the present study was to detect the associations of cadherins-P, -E, and -H, with atherosclerosis and pathological cardiovascular conditions.
Methods And Results: The present study with 3-year follow up evaluated atherosclerosis and fasting levels of P-, E-, and H-cadherins in the serum samples of 214 patients in a hospital setting.
Unlabelled: A small behavioral literature on individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has shown that they can be impaired when navigating using map-based strategies (i.e., memory-guided navigation), but not during visually guided navigation.

This report describes a patient with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) with fovea-involving retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) tear that showed tissue remodeling with a good visual outcome. Imaging over the patient's clinical course from 2019 was reviewed. A 74-year-old female presented with left submacular hemorrhage and a large multi-lobular pigment epithelial detachment.
