Background And Objectives: Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is the aftermath of aspiration of oropharyngeal secretions or stomach content. Mechanical ventilation and lowered immunity and consciousness facilitate the etiopathogenesis of SAP. Antibiotic prophylaxis and repeated culture and sensitivity testing dampen the drug susceptibility patterns of the pathogens.

Background: The nasopharynx is characterised by a rich microbial diversity, making it an important endogenous reservoir for respiratory infections. People living with diabetes (PLWD) have a high risk for acquisition of respiratory tract infections, but their nasopharyngeal bacterial flora have rarely been investigated.

Aim: To investigate the nasopharyngeal bacterial flora among PLWD and non-diabetics at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Background: Clinically diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) (CDPTB) patients account for a huge proportion of TB. However, little is known about the genetic diversity and drug resistance profile of Complex (MTBC) strains in this group of patients.

Method: Unmatched case-control study was conducted among 313 PTB patients to compare the genetic diversity of MTBC and their drug resistance profiles among CDPTB ( = 173) and bacteriologically confirmed pulmonary TB (BCPTB) ( = 140) patients.

Introduction: Arcobacter species are emerging foodborne pathogens increasingly associated with human illness worldwide. They are commonly found in the gastrointestinal tracts of animals and are frequently isolated from various food sources, including raw meat, poultry, and seafood. The aim of this study is to investigate the antimicrobial resistance patterns of Arcobacter spp.

Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria cause infections with higher risks of morbidity, mortality, and financial burden. Understanding the antimicrobial resistance patterns of these pathogens is crucial for effective treatment and managing resistance. Therefore, this retrospective study examined the prevalence, causes, and trends in antimicrobial resistance in bacterial infections at a neurosurgical hospital in Nepal.
