Primary Objectives: To investigate the measurement properties of the Orientation Log (O-Log) and a hybrid scale using Rasch analysis techniques and to explore the relations between the items of the 2 scales and the latent linear construct modeled in the Rasch analysis.

Design: Calibration of data collected weekly during inpatient rehabilitation.

Participants: Ninety patients admitted for rehabilitation after traumatic brain injury.

Results: Measure reliability/construct validity of the O-Log was too low to justify restructuring of disordered rating scales, but the broader set of items in the hybrid scale demonstrated good measure reliability/construct validity prior to and following rating scale restructuring. Both O-Log and hybrid measures demonstrated statistical fit with the linear latent construct, suggesting that orientation and memory are only a subset of symptoms in a broader syndrome.

Conclusions: Posttraumatic amnesia is by definition a proxy measure of a broader syndrome during early recovery and not a measure of the syndrome itself. The results suggest that the O-Log cannot reliably measure progress during early recovery. Furthermore, the analysis suggests that the construct of posttraumatic amnesia is too narrow and should be revisited to improve monitoring of recovery and prognostic estimation after brain injury.

Background And Aims: Previous results of the Dermatology-Life-Quality-Index (DLQI) validation in Colombia based on the classical test theory (CTT) perspective have showed the need to delve into its measurement properties. Therefore, we aimed to assess the structural validity, internal consistency and item response analysis of the DLQI through the item response theory (IRT) or the Rasch model.

Material And Methods: We assessed the dimensionality of the DLQI, determined its difficulty, discrimination and differential functioning and went on to evaluate its internal consistency and discriminative validity among patients with inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin disease.

This paper examines the current state of food insecurity in Bangladesh and its socio-economic drivers using data from the latest Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES 2022). Unlike previous studies that relied on less precise measures of food insecurity, such as food expenditure, diversity, and calorie intake, this study employs the internationally recognized Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES) and Rasch model-based thresholds to classify households as food secure or insecure. Multilevel logistic regression is used to identify significant predictors of moderate and severe food insecurity, considering the hierarchical structure of the data, with households nested within geographical clusters.

University of Padua, Laboratory of Studies and Evidence Based Nursing, Department of Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular Sciences and Public Health, Padua, Italy.

Purpose: The primary challenge in infant care is developing a comprehensive, rapid, and reliable assessment tool that is minimally dependent on subjective evaluations and applicable in various inpatient settings. This study aims to develop and assess the structural validity of the Infant Nursing Assessment Scale (INA), enabling a comprehensive evaluation of hospitalized newborns and infants.

Design And Methods: A development and validation study based on cross-sectional design was undertaken.
