Hydrocele of the canal of Nuck is a very rare condition in females. The processus vaginalis within the inguinal canal forms "the canal of Nuck" in females, homologous to the processus vaginalis in males. Failure of obliteration of the processus vaginalis results in either a direct or an indirect inguinal hernia or if a sac of serous fluid is retained, it forms a hydrocele. Very little has been reported on this condition in the literature. We present a case of hydrocele of canal of Nuck in an 8-year-old female.

Hydrocele of the Canal of Nuck is a rare inguinal-scrotal swelling that occurs primarily as a chronic painful lump in childhood or in young women. Here, we present a rare case of the same, presenting at an extreme of age and with a short history. An 85-year-old female patient presented with a progressive inguinal swelling for 2 months in a known case of decompensated cirrhosis of liver in form of ascites and portal cavernoma.

Background: To analyze the safety and efficacy of microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy(MSV) performed with and without preservation of all testicular arteries and lymphatic system.
Methods: All of the 98 patients with varicocele who underwent MSV were included in the analysis. Fifty-eight male patients surgically underwent MSV with preservation of all testicular arteries and lymphatic system(Group 1).
Timely diagnosis and surgical intervention are crucial in managing hydrocele of the canal of Nuck. A systematic approach, including thorough examination and appropriate imaging, followed by meticulous surgical technique, ensures successful treatment and favorable long-term outcomes for patients.
