Background: Isolated central hypothyroidism, although rare, has been documented in case reports in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) treated with roxadustat, a novel agent in the treatment of renal anaemia.
Case Presentation: A woman in her sixties with CKD stage 5 (not in dialysis) and no prior thyroid disease, was started on treatment with roxadustat 70 mg x 3 weekly for renal anaemia. During treatment, the patient developed classic signs of hypothyroidism (fatigue, dry skin, constipation, difficulty concentrating), with blood samples consistent with isolated central hypothyroidism.

Background And Hypothesis: We observed lower risk of all-cause mortally among continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) users compared to those non-users using a large polysomnography (PSG) registry. However, the effect of CPAP on mortality risk has not been examined in dialysis patents.
Methods: We studied 9841 patients with PSG performed from September 1990 to 2010 in Nakamura clinic, Okinawa.

Background: The associations between self-reported chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP) and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) have been reported using various instruments to assess itch. Data collection via multiple CKD-aP instruments allows the evaluation of different domains and measurements of CKD-aP burden and may help tailor data capture for future research or clinical care.
Methods: An electronic PRO (ePRO) survey was distributed to European hemodialysis (HD) patients enrolled in the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (DOPPS) in 2021-23.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is a therapy for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). PD carries an increased risk of peritonitis, often secondary to poor technique. A small subset of patients may present with "silent" peritonitis, or peritonitis in the absence of fever and abdominal pain, making diagnosis and treatment challenging.
