In order to objectivize clinical and laboratory data, we applied P. V. Terentyev's method of correlation analysis as modified by A. N. Zosimov when examining 60 adolescents with chronic purulent maxillary sinusitis. This approach was necessary to choose an adequate method for evaluating the therapeutic efficacy. Analysis of correlations between clinical parameters, blood profile and immune data demonstrated different relationships before and after therapy. The mathematical and graphical models proposed make it possible to evaluate objectively each type of treatment, the results being in agreement with clinical observations. These models can help predict the course of disease.

Objective: TRIB3 has been confirmed to participate in and regulate biological metabolic activities in head and neck tumors such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma and oropharyngeal carcinoma, so the purpose of this study was to explore whether there is a correlation between TRIB3 and Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LSCC) and to preliminarily explore the biological characteristics of TRIB3 in LSCC.
Methods: TRIB3 expression in the LSCC was analyzed based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. CCK-8 assay, Colony Formation Assay, wound healing assay, and Transwell assay were performed to investigate the roles of TRIB3 in the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of LSCC.
Delayed fracture healing (DFH), a common complication of post-fracture surgery, exhibits an incompletely understood pathogenesis. The present study endeavors to investigate the roles and underlying mechanisms of miR-656-3p and Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2) in DFH. It was recruited 94 patients with normal fracture healing (NFH) and 88 patients with DFH of the femoral neck.

With the development of deep learning methods for human pose detection, kinematics can be quantified based on a video and this study aimed to investigate whether a relatively simple 2D multibody model could predict relevant dynamic biomarkers based on the kinematics using inverse dynamics. Six participants performed ten vertical and forward single leg hops while the kinematics and the ground reaction force "GRF" were captured using an optoelectronic system coupled with a force platform.

This study introduces a novel landfill cover material, employing lake sediment as a substrate, stabilised with fly ash, slag, desulfurisation gypsum and construction waste. The mechanical properties, including shear strength parameters, unconfined compressive strength, hydraulic conductivity, volumetric shrinkage, and water content, of the solidified sludge were evaluated. The microscopic mechanism of the solidified sludge were investigated through XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDS techniques.
