Background: On optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans of the optic nerve head, peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structures (PHOMS) are sometimes seen as a sign of axonal distension. The phenomenon has been reported more frequently in myopic subjects. We investigated PHOMS-prevalence in a myopic pediatric cohort, associated risk factors, and PHOMS development over 18 months during low-dose atropine treatment.

Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma (LGFMS) represents an exceptionally rare soft-tissue tumor, challenging to diagnose, and notorious for relentless recurrence and proliferation postsurgical resection. Primary symptoms of LGFMS include nasal congestion and rhinorrhea, accompanied by cheek numbness and distension. In this article, we report the diagnosis and treatment of a case of low-grade LGFMS originating in the maxillary sinus (MS).

Data supporting the safety and clinical efficacy of early oral feeding (EOF) after total gastrectomy are limited. The aim of this prospective randomized controlled study was to explore the safety and clinical efficacy of two early enteral nutrition approaches for gastric cancer patients after radical total gastrectomy. The EOF group had faster postoperative recovery of intestinal function than the enteral tube feeding (ETF) group.
