Advanced electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials are in great demand because of the severe electromagnetic population problem caused by the explosive growth of advanced electronics. Besides superior EMI shielding properties, the mechanical strength of the shielding materials is also critical for some specific application scenarios (e.g.

The development of quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries (QSSLMBs) is hindered by inadequate interfacial contact, poor wettability between electrodes and quasi-solid-state electrolytes, and significant volume changes during long-term cycling, leading to safety risks and cataclysmic failures. Here, we report an innovative approach to enhance interfacial properties through the construction of QSSLMBs. A multilayer design integrates a microwave-synthesized LiAlTi(PO) (LATP) ceramic electrolyte, which is surface-coated with a lithiophilic conductive ink comprising VS and disulfonated functionalized graphene nanosheets (VS-DSGNS) using a low-cost nail-polish binder.

The research, which was a component of a broader initiative, focused on synthesizing a pioneering carrier buffer particularly intended for arc atomic emission spectroscopy. By analyzing various evaporation curves and quickly refining the formula of the novel carrier buffer, a more comprehensive, selective, and expedited condition was established for fractionating the target elements from the sample using the single-electrode carrier distillation method, thereby increasing the sensitivity of atomic emission spectrum analysis. Furthermore, the buffer mechanism was thoroughly investigated, using data from field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS).

The research conducted in this study aimed to determine whether the production of a layered casting in the material system of X46Cr13 steel (working part) and gray cast iron (base part) can be integrated with the hardening process of this steel within the conditions of the casting mold. Accordingly, a series of layered castings was produced by preparing the mold cavity, where a monolithic steel insert was poured with molten gray cast iron with flake graphite. The variable factors in the casting production process included the pouring temperature T and the thickness of the support part g.
